NEKOTECH GLOBAL FUTURE LEADERS:US-AFRICA PEACE AND INTEGRITY ACADEMY
The US-Africa Peace and Integrity Academy was birthed after the USAfrica Leaders Summit held in Washington DC, USA in August 2014. In line with the United Nation’s International Youth Day 2015 theme of “Youth Civic Engagement,” Nekotech Center has engaged the youth of Ghana to equip them with peace building and conflict resolution knowledge to enable a fruitful youth engagement for peace and development. The engagement and participation of the youth is essential to achieve sustainable human development. Yet often, the opportunities for youth to engage politically, economically and socially are low or nonexistent, especially in the peace-building process.
Nekotech believes that it will take ‘all hands on deck’ for the world to achieve the sustainable development goals post 2015. The Center developed the Global Future Leaders Initiative and chose to focus on Peace and Integrity – as essential to leaders of tomorrow for sustainable development.
